Announcing London to Paris Bike Ride 2009 |
|
September the 4th will see us starting our third annual London to Paris bike ride, this time to support children in Gaza. This year's event will be bigger than the last two years, as we are aiming for 50 riders and £100,000. It should be a tremendous weekend, and we are praying for the same weather we've had the last two years (see photos from last year). |

London to Paris Cyclists Raise over £20,000 |
|
26 cyclists from Conchango and partners ride 220 miles from London to Paris, and raise £22,000 to buy ruggedised educational laptops for children in the refugee camps and under occupation in Gaza and the West Bank. This was £7,000 more than the target we had set - a great performance by the team. |

40th Birthday Party for Iyas |
|
On 8th December 2007, Paola, the wife of one of the founders of the Charity, pulled off that most unusual event - a surprise birthday party which was a surprise, for his 40th birthday. She asked that all gifts came as donations to Hope and Play, and crucially that none were made prior to the event to give the game away. All complied, and with the party held in the Pitcher and Piano in Richmond, Iyas and Paola's friends and family raised about £1,500 through their generosity. These funds will all go towards the first two playgrounds we are building in Gaza and the West Bank. |

2007 Cycle Ride from London to Paris raises £11,000 |
|
On 14th September, 18 cyclists from London to Paris (over 200 miles) raised over £11,000 in sponsorship to fund the building of two playgrounds in Gaza and the West Bank. |
